Today I decided to replace the rear sprocket on the RTB. I needed to send the oem sprocket off for blueprinting and I purchased a JTR steel sprocket to run until I can get my lightweight aluminum, which may be over kill but we need them for the store anyway…..
So I am always saying that QC in China is getting better every day and I am always happy to find out I'm correct.
The rear sprocket is not held on by four bolts, but has a lock ring to do the job. The bolts are primarily drive bolts and the lock ring keeps the thing on. No need for loctite on this setup at all!!!
The oem sprocket is a 45 tooth and replaced it with a 32 tooth which I thought may be a little aggressive but it turns out it's perfect. Had to remove three links from the chain but that was pretty easy.
The bike will cruise at 75 now in fourth gear with one to go.
This really is the best china bike I've ever had the pleasure of riding, this thing is awesome!!!!

After riding a little the 32 may be a little extreme, I think a better fit might be a 36 or 37 tooth sprocket.
For me the 32 is perfect though but for the average rider doing a lot of starting and stopping I think a few more teeth may be in order.
You do need about 2.5k to get started on the 32 but after that it's perfect :)

I have a D250RTB on order. I would have gotten it through you, but I just only found out you were in the business (saw your youtube) posts and that led me here. I would like to buy the 28" 7/8 black drag bar you used on your bike as well as a sprocket upgrade. Maybe a 36 tooth. Whatever sprocket you suggest actually. You have done alot of research. Thanks, Joel

Here is the drag bar for RTB below on eBay. I doubt we will be selling these in our store.

We will have sprockets available in about a week I would think for the RTB, just got the oem sprocket sent off the other day, so we will have those in the store soon.
I have one RTB using a 32 tooth sprocket but I would probably advise that you buy a 36, 37 or 38 tooth sprocket. I think the 38 is a great choice for most everyone who is doing mixed riding (city/highway). If you are on the highway mostly the 32 is a good choice, albeit a little extreme…

Thanks for the good info. I will check out the ebay link after this..I will wait and order the sprocket from you..Ive got plenty of time..38 tooth sounds good. I gonna be a few weeks untill the bike gets here. Its crazy.Im 43 years old had my first bike at 10 yrs old (suzuki rm 80) and have gone as far as a Yamaha FZ1(1000)..but I have yet to get a motorcycle endorsement..guess im gonna go get one..because I will probably need it somehow in order to get this bike licensed..I always just bought from dealerships. Thanks again..I will wait to get my sprocket from you.. Joel

Congrats on your purchase Joel, bike is definitely cool. Here in Las Vegas if you are caught riding without endorsement it will cost you over $1000 in fines, plus for picking your bike up from impound which is automatic. For that reason, I am 59 years old, been riding since I was 14, and got my endorsement this year. Made sense, too much money and hassle if your caught.

Hi Joel, It's in transit to the cnc shop as we speak. Should have it blue printed by the end of the week. They will magically appear in the store when it's ready :)
