OfflineHi, This is the old Stillcrazy……I couldn't get signed on and finally gave up my old name!
My bike is a 2008 lifan ll sport bike. The fuel drain hose keeps dripping fuel. Took carb off and tried to clean it out. Cleaned and tightened the needle valve as tight as I thought it should be without overtightening. Now the tech question. Does this hose also act as anoverflow for the carb.? I had a Honda and the float stuck and fuel filled the cylinder. Does this also connect to the venturi ? Guess I need a cutaway of the carb. or is it possible that the seat of the needle valve is cracked ? ( you can't see it)
Anyone else have this problem ?

OfflineNo the over flow drain is at the top of the bowl. As the fuel level rises above the level of the overflow the gas will come out of the over flow and drain.
The venturi is a seperated by the orifaces in the jets on every carburator.
Just FYI you cannot break an engine with gasoline. If you were running VERY rich with a stuck float and a stopped up over flow tube you could foul up a sparkplug. It is possible for gasoline to get past your rings and the motor oil will loose its viscosity, but that would take a LONG time. (like you'd go through lots of plugs before that occurs)
