Me neither, guess we could call Angela and find out......

I want to know when he is sentenced, maybe they already did this? If I find a few minutes I'll call the FBI today.

Whoohoo!!!! It's finally over, for Travis at least!!!! Can't wait for sentencing!

One count, but the total loss of his victims is included in the one count.

The down side is his guidelines are only five to seven years on the high side, he has been in for two years already and he will get credit for that. So best case for him is another three years, this is federal time so no early release, I think..... I'm hoping for at least five more but this may not be realistic.

He could be out by this time 2015 ready to find some more victims.....Cry

We won't know until he is sentenced which could take a few more months.

Do you have any idea when his sentencing hearing is? Like to see him kept there for a good long while but either way ultimately we lose ... either he skates or our tax dollars go to shelter & feed him & take care of his medical needs

They said sentencing will be probably in a few months and that we would get an email and a letter like usual.

I would be interested to know how much this case cost the government? I wonder if it cost more than he stole to put him away for a maximum of seven years? And even that time is not guaranteed other than the almost two years he's already completed.

I bet Tammie will plea out as well. All of these criminals will be back in the "flock" just in time to do some more major damage to a new batch of people, I would bet money on it.

Still, I'm glad the FBI got into the mix this time around. Along with this website and many others Travis has been exposed, hope no one forgets about him the next time he plays his con game in a few years, I know I'll be watching to keep him honest.........

Not sure about how much time they will face. Travis was the mastermind and he pleaded guilty to defrauding a bunch of people, I have heard, of around 500k plus in total. The FBI is assessing just how much damage he did to businesses and individual investors like myself before they have a number to ask the Judge for.

I would guess Travis will get eight to ten years in federal prison and Tammie will probably get two or three years. Travis has been in federal detention since he was busted back in May of 2010 so they will give him credit for those two years.

Hopefully when he gets out, most people will know to steer clear of him in the future.

Hawdy...

Wow. Half a mil for ten years and he gets three hots and a cot with free medical care and all the associated fringes. I suppose crime does pay. Any idea how hard someone has to work to make $50K a year and still have to spend it on food, clothes, medical care etc? Unbelievable.Confused

Well, it's all over except for the jail time now...... I think I was the only person they gave restitution to (I'm Shoals Outdoor Sports). I doubt I ever see that money :(

Mr. Almon Poole

RE:  United States v. Defendant(s) Travis D. Oberg
Case Number 2009R00777 and Court Docket Number 10-CR-00135

Dear Mr. Poole:

The enclosed information is provided by the United States Department of Justice Victim Notification System (VNS). As a victim witness professional with the United States Attorney's Office, my role is to assist you with information and services during the prosecution of this case.  I am contacting you because you were identified by law enforcement as a victim during the investigation of the above criminal case.  Defendant Travis D. Oberg was sentenced by the Court.  Court ordered the defendant to the following:

Incarceration of 8 year(s) 4 month(s)
Followed by Supervised Release of  3 year(s)
Special Assessment of  $100.00.
Fine of  $0.00.
The Court ordered restitution to be paid in case 2009R00777 in the total amount of $16,250.00 to Shoal's Outdoor Sports.

While the Court has ordered restitution in this case, it does not mean the defendant(s) will make restitution payments.  In the event restitution payments are received from the defendant, the funds will be distributed by the Clerk of the United States District Court. It is your responsibility to keep our Office and the Clerk's Office advised of any address changes.

Through the Victim Notification System (VNS) we will continue to provide you with updated scheduling and event information as the case proceeds through the criminal justice system.  You may obtain current information about this case on the VNS Web site at https://www.notify.usdoj.gov or from the VNS Call Center at 1-866-DOJ-4YOU (1-866-365-4968) (TDD/TTY: 1-866-228-4619) (International: 1-502-213-2767). In addition, you may use the Call Center or Internet to update your contact information and/or change your decision about participation in the notification program.  If you update your information to include a current email address, VNS will send information to that address.  In order to continue to receive notifications, it is your responsibility to keep your contact information current.

You will use your Victim Identification Number (VIN) 2794963 and Personal Identification Number (PIN) 9049 anytime you contact the Call Center and the first time you log on to the VNS web site. In addition, the first time you access the VNS Internet site, you will be prompted to enter your last name (or business name) as currently contained in VNS.  The name you should enter is Shoal's Outdoor Sports.  If you are receiving notifications with multiple victim ID/PIN codes please contact the VNS Help Desk.

Remember, VNS is an automated system and cannot answer questions.  If you have other questions which involve this matter, please contact this office at the number listed above.

Hawdy...

Congrats.

Its a crazy f**ng world we live in dude.

Because he "owes" you money, you have a vested interest in his personal health so look into getting life insurance on his person for the amount he owes with you as beneficiary and anything can happen to cause a settlement in 8 years. Jail is a dangerous place. Lifers kill for an ice cream since another 5 years don't mean nothing.

Sucks to be him right now. Don't do the crime if you ...oh wait, he is doing time.

Cool

That money is long gone and I will never see it, but I don't feel bad about it because it really did not affect me in a negative way. I personally know some people he stole big money from, like over 100k and it did have a major affect on their lives.

I almost sent him 85k though, that would have hurt.....

Since Travis has been out of prison it seems he might be back up to his old tricks once again. I've been contacted by a handful of people wanting to know more about my experiences with him.

For a start everyone should go read this below along with all of the comments,

http://kcbbb.blogspot.com/2010/05/yoshida-motor-sports-fraud-skids-to.html

In the comments there are multiple people (including myself) who have lost a lot of money dealing with him.

If he has contacted you offering some fantastic deal that seems unreal I suggest calling the Kansas City FBI field office (816-221-6100 press 9 for operator) and asking for Angela Frisbee and let her know about what he's asking you to do. I believe she has been moved to another office since my last dealing with her, probably back in 2010-2012.

I've left a message for her and we'll be reporting some of the information we've seen thus far as time goes on.

His victims on this forum know how he operates, he finds you online and offers you a deal that seems to good to be true. He is a convincing person and will make you feel at ease with a transaction. He then asks you to wire money to a bank account. This is what he did back in 2010 to me and my business partner at the time and many others. He was convicted of wire fraud and given a 100 month sentence. He got out early last year I believe.

Also I have attached the voicemail that Travis left me back in 2010, indirectly threatening my life and saying he was going to flee the country. This voicemail was left when Travis was on the run from Law Enforcement, he was caught two or three days after this voicemail was left. The main reason I am re uploading it is so anyone who is contacted by him will be able to listen to this and compare his voice. This audio file contains a lot of vulgarity, so if that bothers you then you should not download the file.
