Cause superchargers are power on demand.

Besides you don't have to use a specific engine type to run one.  Thumpers, V-twins, and two strokers will take kindly to supercharging.

Not saying you can't turbo a thumper, vtwin or smoker; but they are not as efficeint with a turbocharger as an inline, boxer or parallel engine.

You wanna talk supercharged odd ball?

I've got just TWO more custom motorcycles on my mind.. One is a speeder bike (Yes 501 bebe!!) The other is a diesel fuel dirtbike.

After building my two stroke Ninja I have a frame with no use.  I know a guy with a few diesel thumpers (for water irrigation).  Me thinks put it on a dirtbike frame…

BUT WAIT.  A F/I motor with a shaft output to an external clutch?!?!  It would be sacralige not to put a SUPERCHARGER on that shaft as well as a centripital clutch.  Cool

So, has anyone actually dropped a turbo on a lifan? I see a lot of talk in old threads about possibly doing it, but I don't see where anyone actually did.

Yeah, one guy did back around 2008 I think. I don't think it turned out that great though, but it was a cool project.

Turns out a motor swap would be more cost effective and you would probably get more gain from it, the turbo Lifan had a lot of tuning issues to work out after a lot of plumbing. I dont think it was ever really streetable.

A smoker swap.

If I can ever get up with the guy I sold my China thumper to.  I'm gonna ask him if he'll let me put an KX80 engine in it… Maybe KX100 but that would be pushing it.

You did? We gotta make him attach it even if it means bodily.  LOL. Wanna be Dr. evil starts out with a torch to gunpowder and ends up screaming for GOD to be salvation. I almost broke a rib laughing.

Well, as they say, wisdom is the product if you survive the experience. I vote +1.
